In summer, please take care of the children around you while swimming.

Today (July 7th) the weather is very hot. In the evening, it was bustling by the lake in this city. There were still many people (around a thousand swimming in the water) swimming at an open swimming spot maintained by the government; the lake was calm, and people were playing and frolicking in the water in different ways.

Standing on the shore, I recalled the scene of me swimming bravely in the big waves to the deep water area and almost drowning, thinking that there were too many people, and it would be difficult to notice if someone was drowning. If someone were to drown, I should do my best to save them, just like the person who threw me a lifebuoy and saved me back then.

As I was thinking this, I saw a little boy struggling to stand in the water, leaning over and seemingly drowning, unable to speak; the boy next to him, who was about the same age, perhaps thought the boy was just drinking water. I analyzed that if the drowning boy was in serious trouble, I would rush down to save him, even though I was wearing pants and shoes. The drowning child took in another mouthful of water, but it seemed like he could still stand up. I continued to observe. The child took in another mouthful of water, but seemed closer to the shore. At that moment, I saw a slender woman rushing from the shore, pulling the child up and helping him. The woman should be the child's mother, standing in the water, saying something to the nearby man (presumably the drowning boy's father), but due to the crowd and me standing about 10 meters away from the water, I couldn't hear their conversation clearly.

At this point, I observed that the man seemed confused, shifting his gaze to his other two children beside him; when the drowning boy was struggling, the father's attention should have been on the other two children, not noticing the drowning. The other boy who saw his brother drowning seemed unaware of the danger and did not seek help from adults (the father didn't even notice his child drowning, and the mother only noticed after the child had taken in 3 mouthfuls of water).

After seeing that the child was fine, scanning the water surface and not noticing anything unusual, and with the shore being too noisy and hot, I left.

Reminder: When children go swimming, make sure to take proper precautions and keep a close eye on them. It's difficult to notice if someone is in danger in the water, and only those on the shore are more likely to spot danger, but rescuing someone from the shore may take longer.
